Bariwell (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of Australian bariatric patients who use our app. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect and why. It is customer-facing information, not legal advice.
What we collect
- Account details (email, display name).
- Surgery details you provide (type, date, goals) to power phase-aware guidance.
- Logs you enter (food, water, vitamins, weight, wins, community posts).
- Basic technical information (browser, device) needed to run the app.
How we use it
- To personalise your recovery phase, targets and recipes.
- To send reminders you have opted into.
- To power the AI “Can I Eat This?” checker.
- To keep the community safe and moderate reported content.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We rely on standard cloud infrastructure providers (hosting, database, AI inference) that process data on our behalf. AI food-check queries are sent to our AI gateway to generate a response and are not used to train third-party models.
Your rights
You can view, export or delete your account at any time from Settings. Requests are handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
